According to my research, Udemy has over 55,000 worldwide course creators/instructors. These instructors have courses on 1000+ topics in various different languages (Predominantly English).

Udemy hosts approximately 215,000 online courses (Last checked in October 2025). And, 100 million+ students from 190+ countries are enrolled in these online self-paced classes. There’s literally a teacher for everyone no matter which industry or field you belong to.

These numbers are incredibly huge for a marketplace that runs simply with help of independent instructors from the globe. Such big numbers make us curious to know, who really are the top Udemy instructors! The best instructors who are carrying the platform on their shoulders.

Therefore, I went ahead and did some research, and came up with the following list that you should consider looking at:

Jose Portilla (View Profile) is at #1 in our list of top Udemy instructors with a total of 4.37 Million+ students. He has 86 courses listed on Udemy, his average rating is 4.6/5 after 1.30 Million+ ratings. He is the fastest to reach 1 million+ students on Udemy.

Data Scientist, Jose Portilla also has several best selling courses, but the one which is the most enrolled is, Complete Python Bootcamp: Go from zero to hero in Python (Link).
